Frozen Vigil

Captured on January 20, 2026, this photograph records a fleeting moment that existed for only minutes. A brief break in the clouds opened above the frozen pier, and through it the northern lights quietly revealed themselves. Soft bands of violet and pink rose behind the lighthouse as it continued its steady watch, encased in ice formed by days of wind, spray, and cold.
